Yes! I offer custom color cat caves on request, depending on the wool colours currently available.

Each handmade wool cat cave is made to order, so we can often create a custom colour or colour combination that is different from the options available in our shop. Whether you are looking for a specific shade for your home or a unique personalized cat bed, we are happy to check what is possible.

If you have a specific colour in mind, contact me before placing your order. Tell us the colour you are looking for, and we will check our current wool selection and suggest the closest available option.

Because my felt cat caves are handmade from natural wool, colours can vary slightly between different batches. This means that every cat cave has its own unique character.

For custom cat caves, special colour combinations, or larger orders, please contact me before ordering so we can confirm wool availability, colour options and production time.

Choosing the right cat cave size depends mainly on your cat’s weight, body size and sleeping habits. Our handmade felt cat caves are designed to create a cosy, enclosed space where your cat can curl up comfortably, rather than a large open bed.

As a general guide:

S – Small cat cave
For cats up to approximately 4 kg
37 × 45 × 34 cm
Opening: approximately 17 cm

M – Medium cat cave
For cats approximately 4–7 kg
45 × 55 × 36 cm
Opening: approximately 18 cm

L/XL – Large cat cave
For cats approximately 8–10 kg
50 × 60 × 38 cm
Opening: approximately 21 cm

If your cat is between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger cat cave, especially if your cat likes to stretch out, change position while sleeping, or prefers a little more space.

Keep in mind that every cat is different. A smaller cat that loves enclosed spaces may prefer a snug cave, while a larger or long-bodied cat may need more room.

All our felt cat caves are handmade from natural wool, so measurements may vary slightly from one piece to another.

My felt cat caves are made from natural wool and can be safely washed in the washing machine when needed.

For the best results and to preserve the shape and texture of the wool felt:

• Machine wash at 30°C / 86°F
• Select the wool or delicate cycle
• Use a low spin speed
• Use a small amount of mild detergent suitable for wool
• Do not use fabric softener
• Do not bleach or use harsh detergents

After washing, gently reshape the cat cave while it is still damp and leave it to air dry naturally at room temperature. Keep it away from radiators, tumble dryers and direct heat, which can affect the shape of the felt.

For everyday maintenance, you can simply shake the cave outdoors or gently vacuum it to remove loose hair and dust.

Because every Wooly Cat Cave is handmade from natural wool and wet-felted as one seamless piece, gentle washing will help maintain its shape, texture and durability over time.

Every cat is different. Some cats start using their new wool cat cave straight away, while others need a little time to get used to a new object.

The position of the cave is important. Place it in a spot where your cat already likes to spend time, such as a favourite resting place, near a window or in a quiet corner of the home.

Height can also make a difference. Some cats feel safer and more comfortable when their sleeping place is elevated, while others prefer to stay close to the floor. If your cat regularly chooses a shelf, chair, sofa or other elevated spot, try placing the cave at a similar height.

Avoid moving the cave around too often. Give your cat time to explore it and discover it at their own pace. You can also place a favourite blanket or toy inside to make the new space feel more familiar.

There is no way to guarantee that every cat will use a new bed immediately, but choosing a location and height that match your cat’s existing habits can make the transition much easier.

Yes, I ship handmade wool cat caves internationally from Italy.

I ship to many countries worldwide, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and other international destinations.

Available destinations and shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and order.

If your country is not available at checkout, contact me and I will check whether I can arrange shipping to your destination.

Every handmade wool cat cave is made to order by me in Italy. The total delivery time depends on production time, wool availability and shipping time.

Production time:
I personally make each felt cat cave by hand. Production time depends on the current availability of the wool colour you have chosen and my production schedule. If the wool is in stock, your cat cave can usually be made within 7-14 business days. Custom colours or colours that need to be specially sourced may require additional time.

Shipping time:
Once your handmade cat cave has been shipped, delivery time depends on your destination and the shipping service selected at checkout. International orders may take longer due to customs processing or carrier delays.

You will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking information as soon as your order is on its way.

If you need your custom cat cave or handmade wool cat bed by a specific date, please contact me before placing your order. I will be happy to check the availability of the wool and give you an estimated production and delivery time.

Shipping rates are calculated based on your destination and are displayed at checkout before you complete your order.

I ship each handmade wool cat cave from Italy using a tracked shipping service. Shipping costs vary depending on the destination, package size and shipping service available.

United States:
For orders shipped to the USA, I pay the applicable customs duties on your behalf when I ship the order. You will not be asked to pay these import duties separately upon delivery.

United Kingdom:
For orders shipped to the UK, VAT and customs charges depend on the value of the shipment and current UK import rules. For higher-value shipments, UK import VAT and, where applicable, customs duty and carrier handling fees are normally collected when the parcel is imported. These charges are paid by the customer.

European Union:
For orders within the EU, applicable VAT is handled according to the tax rules shown at checkout, and there are normally no customs duties between EU member states.

Yes, eligible Wooly Cat Cave products can be returned within the applicable return period, provided they meet the conditions of my return policy.

Because every handmade wool cat cave is made to order, return eligibility depends on whether the item is a standard product or has been specially customised.

Standard cat caves and other eligible products can be returned if they are unused, clean and in their original condition. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or I sent the wrong product.

Custom cat caves, including custom colours, custom sizes or other personalised requests, may not be eligible for return.

If you would like to return your handmade cat cave, please contact me before sending it back. I will provide the return instructions and confirm whether your order is eligible for a return.
